PLAINVIEW, N.Y., 29 Nov. 2009. Aeroflex Plainview in Plainview, N.Y., is introducing eight high-reliability, radiation-hardened analog multiplexers (muxes), which are for aerospace applications to send several signals to subsystems for monitoring.
Aeroflex's eight rad-hard muxes are packaged in a 56-lead CQFP. The Mini MUX8520/21/22/23 will resist total-dose radiation of 300 kilorads, while the Mini MUX8530/31/32/33 will resist total-dose radiation of 150 kilorads.
The eight units have the same features as the existing Aeroflex MUX family products, but are packaged in smaller denominations to offer 16 to 32 channels versus 48 to 64 channels in the current offering.
The devices have built-in decoupling caps, current limiting resistors, and built-in electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, with Kelvin measurement options for remote resistive sensors.
