PORTLAND, Ore., 8 Dec. 2009. FLIR Systems Inc. won $6.7 million in Foreign Military Sale (FMS) orders for delivery to Middle East/North African nations. The orders support Critical National Infrastructure Agency (CNIA) and Counter Terror (CT) missions and include FLIR's Star SAFIRE III and Ultra Series infrared multi-sensor surveillance systems.
FLIR is a preferred vender for FMS programs due to its unique Commercially Developed Military Qualified (CDMQ) model, explains a company representative. The CDMQ model provides "a comprehensive array of EO/IR products that are customizable to every mission, but also allow for rapid deployment on hundreds of platforms for Airborne, Maritime, and Land applications," continues the executive.
"These orders, contributing to the $60 million in FMS orders received so far in 2009, highlight FLIR's international reputation for product and service excellence," says Earl Lewis, president and CEO of FLIR Systems. "We appreciate the U.S. Army's support of FLIR through FMS contracts and we are pleased to contribute to the national safety and security of our allies."
