Savox launches software-defined MissionCore platform for military networks

Built on a modular, IP-based architecture, MissionCore is intended to enable interoperability between existing and new systems by supporting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), broadband and narrowband military networks, video feeds, and sensor data.

ESPOO, Finland - Savox Communications has introduced MissionCore, an open, software-defined mission platform designed to integrate voice, video, and data across military communications and battlefield networks.

Built on a modular, IP-based architecture, MissionCore is intended to enable interoperability between existing and new systems by supporting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), broadband and narrowband military networks, video feeds, and sensor data. The company says the platform aligns with NATO Generic Vehicle Architecture (NGVA) standards and is designed to integrate with battle management systems and artificial intelligence applications.

MissionCore combines voice, video, and multisensor inputs into a common operational environment intended to improve situational awareness while reducing operator cognitive workload through a multisensory audio and visual user interface.

Savox also introduced supporting hardware for the platform, including a Data Processing Unit (DPU) and Data Routing Unit (DRU), which provide low-power processing, routing, and integration of mission-critical voice, video, and data across battlefield environments.

According to the company, MissionCore is designed to support modernization efforts by enabling integration with legacy military communications and mission systems without requiring wholesale replacement of existing infrastructure.
