HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Abaco Systems in Huntsville, Ala., is introducing the GVC1001 high-performance graphics, vision and artificial intelligence (AI) evaluation embedded computer.

The test system is based on the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier module that has an NVIDIA Volta graphics processing unit (GPU) with 512 Tensor Cores and an eight-core ARM CPU. The GVC1001 can process data as fast as 5.7 trilling floating point operations per second (TeraFLOPS).

The GVC1001 is for deployment on constrained platforms such as autonomous vehicles. Typical applications include embedded training, 360-degree situational awareness, electro-optical sensor processing, non-certified degraded visual environment (DVE), display processing, and moving maps.

These types of applications can require AI, deep learning techniques, and inferencing engines, which the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier module delivers. This level of processing is necessary for advanced digital maps, image recognition, image segmentation, object localization, image fusion, image stabilization, object tracking, and image correction within the target applications.

The GVC1001 is suitable for ground vehicles as it provides two CAN bus ports for vehicle data. It ingest video from several cameras over the two 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports. Additionally, its 512-core CUDA-capable Volta GPU opens up intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) applications like wide area persistent surveillance, hyperspectral sensor fusion, IED detection, and synthetic aperture radar processing.

In addition to the dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two CANBus ports, the GVC1001 has extensive I/O flexibility with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 ports, and two USB 3.0 ports.

The unit comes with 256 gigabytes of NVMe solid-state drive bulk data storage to store mission- and moving map data. It also comes with Abaco's AXIS ImageFlex image processing and visualization toolkit to enable engineers to use NVIDIA GPUs.
