ARLINGTON, Va. – U.S. military researchers will brief industry on 19 Jan. 2022 on the upcoming Oversight project to develop software applications, services, and supporting architectures that provide constant custody for as many as 1,000 targets from space.
Officials of the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) will conduct industry briefings on the Oversight space surveillance program from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 19 Jan. at the DARPA Conference Center, 675 N. Randolph St., in Arlington, Va.
The Oversight program aims to develop software applications, services, and supporting architectures that provide constant custody for as many as 1,000 targets from space.
Oversight will focus on scalable approaches to the management of resources and data. Key tenets of a successful Oversight concept are resource management, task allocation, and data management.
Oversight will focus on software architecture development while leveraging hardware investments from other programs. The Oversight architecture may include applications and services running in space and on land.
Briefings will be in advance of an expected release of a broad agency announcement (HR001122S0014) for the Oversight space target tracking project.
Industry briefings will have two sessions, one at the secret level from 8 a.m. to noon, and an unclassified session from 1 to 5 p.m. on 19 Jan. The unclassified session is only for U.S. citizens because it will involve information subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Attendance is limited to one session, and to only as many as two representatives per company.

The briefings are to promote teaming arrangements between researchers; provide potential performers with information on whether and how they might respond to the government’s research and development solicitations; and to increase efficiency in proposal preparation and evaluation.
