ANDOVER, Mass. – U.S. Air Force avionics experts needed secure flight data recorders for the secure mission data systems aboard the service's F-16 jet fighter fleet. They found their solution from Mercury Systems in Andover, Mass.

Mercury won a $165 million contract from the Air Force for F-16 secure flight data recorders, which help provide improved performance, security, and reliability for the F-16's current and future mission needs.

"As an independent domestic supplier of key defense-grade microelectronics, they depend on us to provide the purpose-built technology they need to meet their challenges," says Brian Perry, president of Mercury Processing.

Mercury provided a solution that merged two systems into one, which enabled Air Force experts to proceed without modification to any existing software on the F-16 aircraft.

Additionally, the secure data solution provides an open-systems architecture. For more information contact Mercury Systems online at www.mrcy.com.
