PCI Express Gen 5 NVMe solid-state drive controller offers quality of service (QoS) necessary for today's cloud-focused data center applications.

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Microchip Technology Inc. in Chandler, Ariz., is introducing the NVMe 4016 solid-state drive controller for high-reliability solid-state drives that deliver greater than 14 gigabytes per second throughput and more than 3 million input/output operations per second.

The PCI Express Gen 5 NVMe solid-state drive controller offers stringent quality of service (QoS) necessary for today's cloud-focused data center applications.

The controller offers 16 high-speed programmable NAND Flash channels capable of as any as 2400 megatransfers per second, and can use PCI Express Gen 5 x 4 speed bandwidth.

The NVMe 4016 enables systems designers to use their existing firmware. As an NVMe 2.0-compliant controller, the NVMe 4016 supports the latest storage and performance compute applications.

The NVMe 4016 PCI Express Gen 5 controller introduces PCI Express link encryption support. With dual signature authentication and Trusted Platform support, the NVMe 4016 controller meets critical storage and enterprise application security needs.
