ASHBURN, Va. – The Curtiss-Wright Corp. Defense Solutions division in Ashburn, Va., has collaborated with Nutanix Inc. in San Jose, Calif., to certify the Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP) on the PacStar Modular Data Center (MDC) -- Curtiss-Wright's COTS rugged data center.

These technologies can host cloud storage, artificial intelligence (AI), and analytics applications to enable warfighters to deploy computing at the edge of tactical networks and rapidly set up a secure communications system in the field.

With support for the Nutanix Cloud Platform, a PacStar MDC-NR system can cluster several PacStar servers to enable shared compute and storage resources to run virtual machines and hypervisor containers.

The PacStar MDC-NR brings the Nutanix hybrid-cloud model to the tactical edge of the battlefield to integrate with cloud providers like Amazon Web Services Inc., Google Support Services LLC, Microsoft Corp., and Oracle.
