Analog Devices of Norwood, Mass., is offering the AD14060 and AD14160 Quad-SHARC multiprocessors, the first of a new family of digital signal processing multichip modules for military, aerospace, and industrial applications. The new devices use the built-in multiprocessing features of the ADSP-21060 DSP to achieve 480 million floating point operations per second performance with 16 megabits of on-modular shared static random access memory. The devices come in 308-lead ceramic quad flatpacks measuring slightly larger than two square inches and 0.16-inch thick, which reduces their board requirements by 60 percent over previous SHARC devices.
