Green Hills Software Inc. is releasing a validated Ada95 optimizing software compiler for 32- and 64-bit embedded systems. The compiler is validated for six different implementations: a self-hosed Sparc/Solaris, as well as for the Motorola 68040, Motorola/IBM/Apple PowerPC, MIPS R4700 and R3081, and the Lockheed Martin RAD6000 microprocessor. The 68040, PowerPC, and R4700 run the Wind River Systems VxWorks 5.3, and the RAD6000 and R3081 run VxWorks 5.2. The compiler implements object-oriented programming, hierarchical library organization, type extensions of tagged types and child library units, and new task and synchronizations such as protected types.
