VME single-board computer manufacturers Ixthos Inc. of Leesburg, Va., and DY 4 Systems of Kanata, Ontario, are merging their companies into what promises to be a formidable digital signal processor (DSP) provider for ruggedized and military applications. DY 4 has had marginal success with its line of Texas Instruments 320C40-based VME DSP boards, but now raises its DSP profile by teaming with Ixthos, which specializes in the militarily popular Analog Devices SHARC DSP.
