CHELMSFORD, Mass., 4 Aug. 2005. TEK Microsystems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass., is working together with the QinetiQ Real Time Embedded Systems Group in Malvern, England, to offer advanced embedded systems in North America.
The companies are combining the field programmable gate array (FPGA)-based digital signal processing boards from QinetiQ with TEK Micro's fabric-agnostic boards and systems for complex real time embedded systems.
"TEK Micro has been working with QinetiQ in a formal alliance since January 2005," says TEK Micro President Andrew Reddig. "In that short time we've announced several major new products and generated significant interest in the embedded market, particularly in the military and defense arena in the USA.
TEK Micro will bundle QinetiQ pre-compiled Quixilica FPGA cores into the TEK Micro Jazz family of PMC/XMC and VXS-based products.
TEK Microsystems is the exclusive supplier of QinetiQ's Quixilica VXS family of FPGA-based processing hardware in North America. The Quixilica family couples high performance analog and digital I/O front ends with a scalable FPGA-based processing architecture.
QinetiQ and TEK Micro will work together to develop and market advanced systems -- the first of which is a data recording system based on the integration of each company's advanced technologies.
