Development kit for RTG4 radiation-tolerant FPGAs for space uses introduced by Microsemi
Sept. 4, 2015
ALISO VIEJO, Calif., 4 Sept. 2015. Microsemi Corp. in Aliso Viejo, Calif., is introducing the RTG4 FPGA Development Kit to help space designers evaluate and develop applications like data transmission, serial connectivity, bus interface, and high-speed designs using Microsemi's RTG4 radiation-tolerant field programmable gate array (FPGA).
The development kit provides reference to evaluate and adopt RTG4 technology quickly, without the need to build a test board and assemble the device onto the board. The RTG4 Development Kit is for evaluating and designing for remote sensing space payloads, radar and imaging, as well as spectrometry in civilian, scientific, and commercial applications.
Other applications include mobile satellite services (MSS) communication satellites, as well as high altitude aviation, medical electronics and civilian nuclear power plant control.
RTG4 FPGAs are for modern satellite payloads. The devices feature reprogrammable flash configuration, and offer reprogrammable flash technology for immunity to radiation-induced configuration upsets in radiation environments.
