Rugged computer for server applications in harsh environments introduced by NextComputing

NASHUA, N.H., 23 March 2016. NextComputing in Nashua, N.H., is introducing the Vigor EDS high-throughput rugged computer for use in military harsh environments.

NASHUA, N.H., 23 March 2016. NextComputing in Nashua, N.H., is introducing the Vigor EDS high-throughput rugged computer for use in military harsh environments.

The Vigor EDS is for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) applications, or as a portable, deployable server or server clusters.

It offers support for VMware vSphere, Red Hat Linux, and other Linux distributions; has full-size PCI Express 3.0 card support for high-speed data recording and network card configurations including 10G and 100G interfaces.

The computer supports as many as 28 Intel E5 v3 processor cores (46 Hyper-Threads) and 256 gigabytes of high performance DDR4 memory; SED/AES 256-bit encrypted and FIPS 140.2 compliant RAID-able and removable storage.

The Vigor EDS combines an enterprise-class system architecture, for demanding, mission-critical applications, with a shock-mounted chassis. This portable, rugged workstation and server is designed for data-intensive applications in less than ideal operating environments.
