FREMONT, Calif., 18 Jan. 2013. Themis Computer in Fremont, Calif., is introducing today announced the Intel-based RES-Mini rugged computer for mission-critical military, industrial, and commercial applications in environmentally demanding conditions where size, weight, and power (SWAP) optimization is important.
The Themis RES-Mini embedded computer combines the design of the RES server family with the latest E5 1600 and 2600 Intel Xeon processors with four, six, or eight cores.
Compatible with virtualization technologies including VMWare and Citrix, the RES-Mini features two expansion slots, high-speed I/O, and storage.
The rugged server is reinforced with strong, light-weight coated aluminum that resists corrosion and incorporates thermal and kinetic management design. Commercially available, off-the shelf networking cards, graphics, I/O, peripherals are options.
The rugged server has as much as 256 gigabytes of DDR3 ECC memory; eight 2.5-inch drive bays; two expansion slots; stainless steel reinforcement; optional dust filter; resists the effects of shocks as strong as 3 axis, 35G, 25ms; vibration to 3.0 Grms, 8 Hz to 2000 Hz; and non-condensing humidity from 8 to 90 percent.
The rugged computer operates in temperatures from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius, weighs 15 pounds, and offers power supply options of single 110/220 volts AC (50/60 Hz, 400 Hz), single 28 volts DC, or single 18 volts DC. It meets MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-901D, and MIL-STD-167-1.
