Rugged notebook computer based on latest Intel core processors introduced by Getac
IRVINE, Calif., 20 Oct. 2013. Getac Inc. in Irvine, Calif., is introducing the fifth generation of the company's B300 ultra rugged notebook computer with fourth generation Intel core processors, next generation graphics, Wi-Fi, and multi-carrier 4G LTE.
The Getac B300 incorporates fourth generation Intel Core i5-4300M (2.6 GHz) or i7-4600M (2.9 GHz) processors with Intel Turbo Boost technology clocking maximum speeds to 3.3 GHz and 3.6 GHz, respectively.
Graphics performance has increased by 34 percent thanks to the Intel HD 4600 graphics, which supports DirectX 11.1, OpenCL 1.2 and OpenGL 4.0, and has an improved decoder for 4K videos and the fast Quick Sync encoder.
The B300 offers built-in multi-carrier 4G LTE wireless Internet access on one chip. Large enterprise customers can purchase one B300 4G LTE configuration and choose which carrier is best based on region or preference. The B300 supports 802.11ac WiFi. When connected to an 802.11ac router, the B300 delivers wireless performance that is to three times faster than the previous generation.
The B300 has a 13.3-inch QuadraClear sunlight readable touchscreen display (1400 nits), a SiRFstarIV GPS chipset providing location accuracy to 2.5 meters, as long as 30 hours of battery life and a fan-less design that seals out dust and water.
The B300 can be used in hazardous environments, including areas where flammable gases are present. Its resistance to salt fog makes it suitable for marine environments against the damaging effects of salt corrosion. The computer also enables use with night vision goggles without the need for screen filters.
