Themis Computer in Fremont, Calif., is introducing the XV2 6U VMEsingle-board computer based on the Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor for military and commercial applications involving embedded computing, data storage, and communications. The XV2 is based on the 1.73 GHz low-power Xeon L5518 microprocessor and Intel’s 3420 chipset.The L5518 memory controller supports ECC, and the board's memory is expandable to 24 Gigabytes of DDR III memory. The basic XV2 comes with 3 gigabytes of DDR III memory, 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports, five SATA II ports, four SAS ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, and two XMC/PMC slots.An onboard ATI ES1000 video controller has front or rear panel VGA display access. Providing data storage is an onboard CompactFlash or with an optional on-board 2.5 inch SATA drive, and the embedded computer includes dual-Gigabit Ethernet.The Themis single-board computer operates in temperatures from -5 to 55 degrees Celsius; is rated to 30 Gs shock; and operates in vibration of 10 to 2000 Hz 0.9G rms.
