ECHING, Germany, 8 May 2011. Kontron in Eching, Germany is introducing the MICROSPACE MSM-eO PC/104-Plussingle board computer based on the AMD Embedded G-Series 64-bit microprocessor for small-form-factor embedded computing applications such as mobile battery-operated systems, mobile infotainment systems, and vending machines.AMD Embedded G-Series, which, along with a 64-bit CPU, also integrates a programmable graphics unit and a DDR3 memory controller. The Kontron MICROSPACE MSM-eO integrates the single-core AMD T44R processor with 1.2 GHz, as well as an AMD Radeon HD6250 graphics unit, which supports 3D graphics libraries such as OpenGL 3.2 and DirectX11. An integrated unified video encoder takes the load off the processor when displaying high-resolution videos (1080i/p). Systems integrators also can implement general-purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU) applications with the MICROSPACE MSM-eO in low-power applications by using the GPGPU for parallel data processing. The computer board has as much as four gigabytes of DDR3 RAM, digital display interface (DDI) for DisplayPort, HDMI or DVI signals, two SATA interfaces, a socket for micro SD cards, two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, four USB 2.0 and four serial interfaces (RS232/TTL), eight configurable GPIOs, a 32-bit PCI bus connector (4 slots), and a 16-bit ISA bus connector.
Software support includes Windows, Linux, and VxWorks. For more information contact Kontron online at www.kontron.com.
