Conduant offers PCI Express card to control data storage devices

The full-size PCI Express card can be installed in a PC with open PCI Express slots, and can support as many as 16 SerialATA disk drives for a capacity of 16 terabytes. With its onboard PowerPC processor, real-time operating system and StreamStor data engine, it operates independently of the host PC.

The StreamStor Amazon Express features more than seven hours of recording/playback capacity at 600 megabytes per second with the appropriate disk drives, and offers storage capacities from 250 megabytes to 16 terabytes.
