SAN DIEGO, 5 June 2008.Lambda Americas Inc. in San Diego is introducing the PFE500F AC-DCfull-brick power module with active current-share and remote on/off. The board-mounted power module has output power of as much as 504 Watts for applications in industrial, data communications, and telecommunications equipment.

The active current-share feature enables designers to parallel as man as six PFE500F modules together. An auxiliary output of 10 to 14 volts at 20 milliamps is included for powering external circuits.

The regulated PFE500F models are available in 12-, 28-, and 48-volt nominal outputs and can be adjusted over a ±20 percent range. The 12-volt PFE500F has a maximum base-plate temperature of 85 degrees Celsius, while the 28- and 48-volt models deliver the same output at temperatures as hot as 100 C. Line and load regulation is 0.4 percent and the efficiency exceeds 83 percent.

All models of the PFE500F accept an AC input from 85 to 265 volts at 47 to 63 Hz, have active power factor correction, an input to output isolation of 3 kilovolts, and an input surge immunity level to 6 kilovolts with application circuitry. Over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protections are included.

The PFE500F measures 4.8 by 2.76 by 0.5 inches and has an optional heat sink. for more information contact Lambda online at http://www.lambdapower.com.
