Christie visual display solutions enable collaboration at U.S. Department of Defense
Orlando, Fla., 16 Feb. 2008.Christie, a provider of visual solutions for business, entertainment, and industry, is providing the projection system for the latest-generation Analytic Collaborative Environment (ACE) at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Intelligence Agency.
Located at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, the ACE is powered by a 2 x 2 array of Christie Matrix HD4, 3-chip DLP projectors. It is a high-performance environment that enables the presentation of large amounts of complex data to military analysts and top decision makers. The ACE also features Christie's Vista Spyder, a versatile video processor.
The ACE includes a large 18 x 11-foot "floor screen" in the center of the room, surrounded by a raised catwalk that allows users a comprehensive view of the complete image below. Overhead, Christie projectors produce a blended 3568 x 2000 pixel image yielding 15 pixels per inch of high definition.
Three large plasma screens on the far wall display additional content. Connecting the various visual displays is the Vista Spyder, which allows the Department of Defense to analyze, resize, and manipulate imagery. It can superimpose data, maps, and graphics on-the-fly, upon any screen and from any video source, including DoD and public computer networks.
The four native HD Christie projectors were selected by California-based SPARTA, a systems engineering and advanced technology company, specializing in government technology projects that include strategic systems, tactical weapons, space systems, and information systems.
