HUNTSVILLE, Ala., 5 March 2014. GE Intelligent Platforms announced the Advanced Multiprocessor Integrated Software (AXIS) development environment 6.0 for aerospace and defense software applications.

The AXIS 6.0 software engineering tool provides support for the latest fourth generation Intel Core i7 processors as well as for the most recent multicore processors from Freescale and NVIDIA.

AXIS is designed to speed the development, debugging, optimization, testing and deployment of size, weight and power (SWaP)-sensitive multiprocessor high performance embedded computing (HPEC) systems. AXISPro supports Open MPI to enable developers to run MPI and AXISFlow applications concurrently.

AXIS provides for application portability and scaling across several processor cores, CPUs, and multi-board systems. The AXISView GUI provides a user interface to create, configure, build, load, run, scale, visualize ,and tune several processes across distributed multi-threaded, multi-core, multi-node platforms.

AXIS also includes the AXISFlow high performance inter-process communication (IPC) middleware that features 42 user APIs offering a lightweight, simple-to-use-library that abstracts data movement from the complexities of the underlying hardware and software drivers. It supports multi-channel data paths between tasks and processors over PCI Express, Ethernet, InfiniBand and other high speed switch fabrics.
