Rugged and power-efficient Qseven embedded computing module introduced by AAEON

TAIPEI, Taiwan, 18 Dec. 2014. AAEON in Taipei, Taiwan, is introducing the rugged AQ7-IMX6 CPU embedded computing module in the small Qseven form factor for transportation, industrial, and medical applications.
TAIPEI, Taiwan, 18 Dec. 2014. AAEON in Taipei, Taiwan, is introducing the rugged AQ7-IMX6 CPU embedded computing module in the small Qseven form factor for transportation, industrial, and medical applications.

The SGET-standardized Qseven Rev. 2.0 rugged computer is available with AAEON's WiTAS (Wide Temperature) technology, enabling it to operate in temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius for applications ranging from point-of-sale or digital signage to transportation and industrial applications.

"The Qseven form factor measures 70 by 70 millimeters, making it perfect for any mobile or handheld applications such as gaming or medical devices," says David Hung, project manager of AAEON's Embedded Computing Division.

The module consumes 3 to 5 Watts of power, and uses the Freescale i.MX6 series processor. Additional expansion options include a PCI-Express slot, CAN bus, I2C bus, SD card and USB 2.0. Operating systems such as Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)/4.4 (Kitkat) and Linux 3.0.35 are supported.

AAEON also will provide an ECB-970 carrier board as a test bed for clients interested in evaluating the module before the implementation of their own customized carrier board.
