HUNTSVILLE, Ala., 13 Jan. 2017. Abaco Systems in Huntsville, Ala., is introducing the XVB603 and XVR19 6U VME single-board computers based on 7th generation Intel Xeon E3-1505M v6 processor for mission-critical deployed defense and aerospace embedded computing applications.
The XVB603 and XVR19 provide upgrades for users of previous XVB and XVR products, bringing enhanced processor performance, enhanced storage, and improved protection against obsolescence. They also are for new program starts.
Both product ranges offer reliability and stability from Intel microprocessors and from Abaco's new Vivo field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based VME interface which abstracts these products from potential obsolescence issues, company officials say.
The XVB603 is for air-cooled, front I/O applications in relatively benign industrial or sheltered defense environments. The XVR19, meanwhile, is a rugged offering with rugged air-cooled and conduction-cooled versions for military command and control applications on land, sea and air.
