TOULON, France – Kontron Modular Computers S.A.S. in Toulon, France, is introducing the Layerscape family of single-board computers with NXP Layerscape ARM-based processors for high-performance embedded computing (HPEC) industrial, aerospace, and defense applications.

The single-board computer product family will offer multi-core scalability and will be available in versions ranging from low-power dual-core to eight-core processor variants on VME and VPX architectures.

"Our standard VME and VPX products are for upgrading legacy products, ranging from a less than 10 Watts and 5kDMIPS version to a more than 45kDMIPS at less than 26 Watts," says Laurent Remont, CTO of Kontron S&T.

Orders for the first Kontron Layerscape products will be shipped by March 2018.
