Development platform for 3U OpenVPX embedded computing systems introduced by Pixus

WATERLOO, Ontario – Pixus Technologies in Waterloo, Ontario, is introducing 3U versions of the company's open-frame embedded computing development platform for OpenVPX and other backplane architectures.

WATERLOO, Ontario – Pixus Technologies in Waterloo, Ontario, is introducing 3U versions of the company's open-frame embedded computing development platform for OpenVPX and other backplane architectures.

The VPXD0500 series accepts as many as eight slots of 3U OpenVPX backplanes in a 1-inch pitch. The enclosure also accepts other 3U backplanes such as CompactPCI or VME.

Versions with VITA 66 for optional contacts and VITA 67 for RF contacts are available. A 600- or 1200-Watt modular power supply for OpenVPX voltages is standard with VITA 62 or specialty options available. Other features of the development platform include a convenient carry handle, fan speed control, and optional card guides for conduction-cooled boards.

Pixus offers development/test chassis in various architectures and sizes, including versions for 6U boards. The company also provides backplanes, board handles and face plates, rackmount chassis platforms, and rugged/ATR enclosures.
