IRVINE, Calif. – Getac Technology Corp. in Irvine, Calif., is introducing the UX10 and UX10-IP rugged tablet computers defense, manufacturing, utilities, public safety, transportation, and logistics applications.
The rugged tablet computers meet Microsoft's stringent Copilot+ PC criteria[2], and are powered by an Intel Core Ultra 200V series processor and Intel AI Boost neural processor unit (NPU) with as much as 48 trillion operations per second (TOPS) to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI)-driven tasks and enhance real-time analytics.
Other Copilot+ PC key features include as much as 32 gigabytes of LPDDR5X memory, as much as 2 terabytes of PCI Express NVMe solid state drive data storage, and Windows Hello face authentication. An optional fingerprint reader also is available.
The next-generation UX10 and UX10-IP include upgrades over the previous generation like improved power efficiency for long runtimes between charges, optional slim and lightweight bridge battery, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports for fast data transfer.
Rugged sunlight-readable displays
A 10.1-inch 1,000-nits display offers durability and readability, even in direct sunlight, while the touchscreen works with gloves and in the rain. The devices also are certified to MIL-STD-810H and IP66 to resist the effects of vibration and drops, and operate in temperatures from -29 to 63 degrees Celsius.
These rugged tablet computers weigh 2.53 pounds for all-day use in the field. The combination of power, versatility and portability makes the next gen UX10 ideally suited to a wide range of critical applications.
For defense, their compact size, light weight, and advanced security features are suited to drone control and intelligence gathering. For manufacturing, the built-in NPU offers on-device intelligence for the factory floor for generative and discriminative AI models in efficient predictive maintenance and video streaming for real-time process monitoring.
For utilities, the UX10's wide temperature operating range, AI-powered processing and sunlight-readable screen offer data-intensive mapping and processing images for anomalies fast and efficient.
Tell me more about how rugged tablet computers can help military and commercial aviation applications ...
- Rugged tablet computers in military and commercial aviation applications combine portability, durability, and computing power to enable personnel to perform critical operations like military aviation flight line maintenance in harsh or high-demand environments. They can host digital technical manuals, perform diagnostics and data logging; track parts, and host mission planning and briefings. They also can perform as electronic flight bags, tactical communications, and offer passenger and cabin services. They often offer sunlight-readable, glove-friendly displays, have long battery life, and hot-swappable batteries. The U.S. Air Force And NATO use them for aircraft ground support and maintenance., while major airlines use them for flight operations and maintenance workflows.
For public safety, the UX10's on-device NPU and rugged design suits it to AI-driven applications like real-time transcription, video analysis, and evidence categorization.
For transportation and logistics, the UX10 excels in large-scale warehousing where workers and forklift drivers move between cold data storage and outdoor areas. The device also can be mounted securely in vehicle cabins for real-time navigation, delivery processing, and inventory management.
The next gen UX10-IP's sealed button design can help emergency medical responders prevent the spread of infection for quick cleaning and disinfection between uses.
