EIZO introduces dual-GPU 6U OpenVPX cards for AI and sensor processing
ORLANDO, Fla. - EIZO Rugged Solutions Inc. in Orlando, Fla., has introduced the Condor XR2S 6U VPX Series of graphics and general-purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU) cards for artificial intelligence, sensor processing, and other high-throughput embedded computing applications.
The series includes the Condor XR2S-B5000 with dual NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell Embedded GPUs and the Condor XR2S-B4000 with dual NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell Embedded GPUs. The cards are designed for applications including electro-optical/infrared sensor processing, radar control, signal processing, AI inference, and real-time video analytics.
Each 6U VPX card combines two GPUs with dual Microchip Switchtec PFX PCIe Gen4 switches. EIZO says the switches provide flexible PCIe connectivity between the GPUs and the VPX backplane fabric, supporting peer-to-peer GPU communications and multiple PCIe endpoint configurations.
The architecture also supports NVIDIA GPUDirect RDMA, enabling data transfers between GPUs and I/O devices without requiring the host CPU to handle all data movement. EIZO says individual GPUs can be configured to communicate with I/O modules, the host CPU, or other GPUs through the PCIe switching architecture.
The XR2S-B5000 provides 24 GB of GDDR7 error-correcting code (ECC) memory per GPU and 10,496 CUDA cores per GPU, while the XR2S-B4000 provides 16 GB of GDDR7 ECC memory and 7,680 CUDA cores per GPU. Both GPU options use NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture and provide fifth-generation Tensor Cores and fourth-generation RT Cores.
The cards are designed for OpenVPX systems aligned with the Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) Technical Standard 10.6.4 slot profile. EIZO says the series is also designed to meet MIL-STD-810 environmental requirements for temperature, shock, and vibration.
The dual-GPU architecture is intended to increase compute density for embedded-edge workloads while providing system designers with PCIe switching and GPU-to-GPU data paths for processing large volumes of sensor and other mission data. The company says the cards are intended for high-performance embedded computing applications in defense and aerospace systems.
