ORLANDO - EIZO Rugged Solutions has introduced the Condor T5-IOX, a SOSA-aligned 3U VPX single-board computer powered by the NVIDIA IGX T5000 system-on-module for artificial intelligence (AI) processing, sensor fusion, and high-bandwidth data processing at the tactical edge.

The Condor T5-IOX provides four 12G-SDI inputs for high-throughput video ingest, along with USB 3.2, RS-232, and DisplayPort interfaces. The board is designed to ingest and process multiple ultra-high-definition video streams simultaneously, supporting sensor-fusion applications involving electro-optical/infrared, radar, and communications systems.

The NVIDIA IGX Thor platform combines a Blackwell GPU with an Arm Neoverse-V3AE CPU and supports up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X error-correcting-code memory. EIZO says the platform provides 2,560 CUDA cores and up to 2,070 FP4 TFLOPS of AI processing performance for applications including computer vision, autonomous systems, and other AI workloads.

For data movement between sensors, processing elements, and storage, the Condor T5-IOX provides four 25-gigabit Ethernet ports and supports GPUDirect Remote Direct Memory Access over Converged Ethernet. The board also incorporates NVIDIA hardware acceleration for video decoding and encoding, intended to reduce processing overhead when handling multiple high-resolution video streams.

The 3U VPX board is aligned with the SOSA Technical Standard and conforms to VITA 46 and VITA 65 specifications. EIZO designed the Condor T5-IOX for harsh-environment applications and says it meets applicable MIL-STD-810 requirements for shock, vibration, temperature, and humidity.

The company positions the Condor T5-IOX for tactical-edge computing, autonomous systems, and other applications requiring AI processing close to sensors. EIZO says the combination of AI processing, high-speed networking, and video interfaces can reduce data-transfer requirements and latency while simplifying integration into open-architecture 3U VPX systems.
