General Dynamics boosts cloud computing and IT expertise with acquisition of NETCONN

FAIRFAX, Va., 19 July 2011. Executives of the General Dynamics Corp. Information Technology segment in Fairfax, Va., are enhancing their company's expertise in government cloud computing, computer network infrastructure, and data center technology with their acquisition of Network Connectivity Solutions, Corp. (NETCONN), a cloud computing specialist in Hagerstown, Md. Financial terms of the deal were not released.

FAIRFAX, Va., 19 July 2011. Executives of the General Dynamics Corp. Information Technology segment in Fairfax, Va., are enhancing their company's expertise in government cloud computing, computer network infrastructure, and data center technology with their acquisition of Network Connectivity Solutions, Corp. (NETCONN), a cloud computing specialist in Hagerstown, Md. Financial terms of the deal were not released.NETCONN is prime contractor on the ENCORE II project of the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in Arlington, Va. ENCORE II provides information technology for military command, control, intelligence, and mission support -- particularly for the U.S. military Global Information Grid (GIG). NETCONN also assists DOD Federal Data Center Consolidation projects.

NETCONN concentrates on enterprise information technology (IT) services to the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in Arlington, Va., and agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense. General Dynamics (NYSE:GD) Information Technology provides government systems integration, systems engineering, simulation, and training.
