PHOENIX, 4 June 2008. The Honeywell Inc. Defense and Space segment in Phoenix has agreed to acquire Intelligent Automation Corp. (IAC) in Poway, Calif., a supplier of helicopter on-board diagnostic systems for military and commercial aircraft. The acquisition is subject to regulatory review.

Intelligent Automation also provides health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS) for fixed-wing manned aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and ground vehicles, which provide information and data for diagnostics and prognostics.

"With the acquisition of Intelligent Automation Corp., Honeywell builds on our existing HUMS services to reach new customers around the globe," says Ed Wheeler, president of Honeywell Defense and Space. "HUMS aircraft diagnostic systems provide a dramatic reduction in maintenance hours and maximum flexibility."

IAC's HUMS systems are deployed on more than 500 aircraft, including the U.S. Army AH-64 Apache, C/MH-60 Black Hawk, C/M/HH-47 Chinook, and OH-6 helicopters. For more information contact Honeywell online at www.honeywell.com.
