NATICK, Mass., 10 July 2008. The market for power line surge suppressors will grow from $74.9 million in 2007 to $94.5 million in 2012, predict analysts at Venture Development Corp. (VDC) in Natick, Mass.

The Asia-Pacific market is the smallest of the three markets covered in VDC's 2008 Power Protection Market Intelligence Program. In many emerging markets, project cost takes precedence over power quality, VDC analysts say. As a result, vendors depend on conveying the importance of surge protection.

Commercial and industrial applications offer opportunities such as construction of semiconductor and electronic equipment factories; expanding data centers; and upgrading telecommunications infrastructure. Surge suppression plays a role in all these areas, VDC analysts say. For more information contact VDC online at www.vdc-corp.com.
