Harris completes agreement to license SDR technology for aviation broadband initiative

MELBOURNE, Fla. 26 Jan. 2009 Harris Corp. finalized an agreement with Voyant International Corp. to license its software-defined radio (SDR) technology for an aviation broadband initiative. Voyant a provider of in-flight, broadband connectivity solutions for the commercial airline industry, had signed a letter of intent with Harris early last year.

MELBOURNE, Fla. 26 Jan. 2009 Harris Corp. finalized an agreement with Voyant International Corp. to license its software-defined radio (SDR) technology for an aviation broadband initiative. Voyant a provider of in-flight, broadband connectivity solutions for the commercial airline industry, had signed a letter of intent with Harris early last year.

Under the agreement, Harris is licensing its software-defined radio (SDR) technology to Voyant to support broadband-dependent activities during commercial flight, including accessing the Internet and private intranets, transferring files, and using wireless handheld devices.
