ORLANDO, Fla., 3 Dec. 2009 Presagis announced the release of the Presagis Worldwide Database (WWDB) for aerospace and military simulation and the Presagis Utilities Manager at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) this week in Orlando, Fla.
The WWDB from Presagis is a synthetic global database based on the Common Database (CDB) standard that allows developers to seamlessly add and refine geographic zones of anywhere in the world using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software. With the Utilities Manager, users can easily manage multiple software applications and databases, helping to streamline the process of creating and running complex distributed simulations. These new tools follow other major product releases from the company, including STAGE 6.0, Vega Prime 3.0, Terra Vista 6.0, and Creator 4.0. All of these releases support the Aeria vision and feature deep cross-product interoperability.
Applications, such as flight simulators, urban and ground tactical training, unmanned aerial systems (UASs), and marine simulation programs, require numerous specialized tools, models and databases to be used seamlessly throughout the development and deployment of the end application. To help manage and streamline this workflow, the Utilities Manager automates setup, configuration, validation and manipulation of multiple software tools over a multi-operating system network with ease.
"The modeling and simulation market is working to deliver more complex and increasingly high-fidelity applications while program budgets and timelines continue to shrink," says Nick Giannias, Vice President, Research & Technology, Presagis. "With this new generation of tools and product releases, we are focused on providing the most functional suite of COTS modeling and simulation software in an integrated, interoperable portfolio. This will help companies to minimize timelines and the resource investment required to deliver highly realistic scenarios."
