FAA to establish center of excellence for commercial space transportation

WASHINGTON, 5 Jan. 2010. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Washington plans to establish a center of excellence for commercial space transportation this year.

WASHINGTON, 5 Jan. 2010. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Washington plans to establish a center of excellence for commercial space transportation this year.

Additional details will be available at a public meeting scheduled for 9 Feb. in Washington, during which FAA officials will discuss the center of excellence program and commercial space transportation technical requirements.

A draft solicitation for establishing the center will be available for review prior to the 9 Feb. meeting, FAA officials say.

To register for the meeting, and to receive the draft solicitation for the program, contact Patricia Watts, the FAA National Centers of Excellence program director, by e-mail at [email protected] or by fax at 609-485-4101.

In e-mails and faxes, provide the names, titles, institutions or companies, addresses, and telephone numbers of those interested in attending the meeting or receiving the draft solicitation.
