Navy Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 9 contract awarded to CSC

FALLS CHURCH, Va., 11 Sept. 2010. The U.S. Navy awarded CSC (NYSE: CSC) a support services contract for the Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 9 (VX-9). Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will provide engineering, analytical, and technical services in support of VX-9's mission to conduct operational tests and evaluation on tactical aircraft and weapons.

Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will provide engineering, analytical, and technical services in support of VX-9's mission to conduct operational tests and evaluation on tactical aircraft and weapons.The contract, which was awarded during CSC's fiscal 2011 first quarter, has a one-year base period and four one-year options, bringing the estimated total value to $26 million.VX-9 conducts operational testing on all models of the FA-18 Hornet, including the newest G "Growler" model, the AV-8 Harrier, the EA-6B Prowler, and the new upgrades to the Cobra and Huey helicopters. Testing includes new aircraft software and weapons systems. Work will be performed at the Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake, Calif., and at multiple temporary sites as required by the client.
