Australian battle-management program looks to Ultralife to provide military batteries

NEWARK, N.Y., 7 Dec. 2010. The Australian military needed military batteries for its Land 200 battle management system. They found their solution from Ultralife Corp. in Newark, N.Y. Ultralife won a $5.5 million contract to supply its suite of Land Warrior Lithium non-rechargeable batteries and rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries and charging systems for the Land 200. The company awarding the contract was not named.

Ultralife (NASDAQ: ULBI) is supplying its battery models LI-145, LI-80, LM-145, and CH0006 charger and adapters for the Australian Land 200 system, which includes weapon-mounted sensors, an integrated helmet assembly, a communications-navigation computer system and software for friendly-force tracking and command/control programs. Ultralife will deliver the batteries in 2011 and 2012.
