Green Hills forges alliance with Freescale Semiconductor to blend embedded software and hardware

SAN JOSE, Calif., 27 April 2010. Green Hills Software Inc. in Santa Barbara, Calif., is working together with Freescale Semiconductor in Austin, Texas, to develop single and multicore software operating systems and tools optimized for Freescale's QorIQ and PowerQUICC processor families. 

SAN JOSE, Calif., 27 April 2010. Green Hills Software Inc. in Santa Barbara, Calif., is working together with Freescale Semiconductor in Austin, Texas, to develop single and multicore embedded software operating systems and tools optimized for Freescale's QorIQ and PowerQUICC processor families.

The two embedded computing companies announced a multi-year strategic agreement Monday at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose, Calif.

Green Hills will expand its long-term support for Freescale QorIQ and PowerQUICC processors with the Green Hills INTEGRITY real-time operating system (RTOS), INTEGRITY Secure Virtualization, MULTI integrated development environment (IDE), optimizing C/C++ compilers, TimeMachine Debugging Suite, SuperTrace Probe, Green Hills Probe, and legacy software application porting and code optimization services.

"With this agreement, Freescale's goal is to provide our customers with long term access to Green Hills's world class embedded software solutions targeting many of our most advanced current and future processors," says Raja Tabet, vice president of Software and Systems for Freescale's Networking and Multimedia Group.
