Meet the SMD-0.5e, IR HiRel’s enhanced version of our legacy SMD-0.5 package. The SMD-0.5e offers a redesigned approach to mitigate thermal mismatch and related challenges, such as parasitic resistance and inductance, that weaken performance and assembly. Our enhanced package eliminates the need for ribbon leads without jeopardizing hermetic integrity. Moreover, compared to thermal expansion solutions in the SMD-0.5, the redesign takes up less space and weighs less than the original, all while providing a more direct thermal path for heat transfer.
