Experts at Northrop Grumman`s Integrated Systems and Aerostructures Sector in Bethpage, N.Y., needed prototyping software for the human computer interface for displays on the mission system aboard the C-130J-30 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEWC) aircraft. Leaders of the Austrailian armed forces are interested in buying the C-130J-30.

They found their answer with the InterMAPhics family of commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) software products from Gallium Software in Nepean, Ontario.

InterMAPhics "offers rapid prototyping of design concepts and supports a wide variety of user interfaces and display requirements," says Robert E. Schwarz, vice president AEW programs at Northrop Grumman ISA. "We are currently pursuing several key contracts worldwide and believe that InterMAPhics is a very attractive tool for developing the powerful, high-performance, highly customizable AEWC systems our customers demand."

InterMAPhics prototypes and produces the human computer interface for display systems, enabling systems integrators to reduce risk in developing the human computer interface. A software-development system, InterMAPhics supports the user, from the concept stage through to the prototyping, development, deployment, and maintenance of systems. — J.M.
