Aeroflex Plainview in Plainview, N.Y., is offering its RadHard Voltage Regulator family to Standard Military Drawing (SMD) number 5962-05219 from the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) in Columbus, Ohio. The VRG8601/8602/8603/8604 products are in production and available for space application requirements. A new package also is available; a low-profile more robust TO-257 has been incorporated and is available with six gold plated 0.030-inch diameter leads and an optional solder plate. Aeroflex’s VRGs have a proven space flight record and are guaranteed to resist 100 kilorads total-dose radiation by wafer diffusion lot testing. These drop-in compatible products enable designers to increase or lower radiation requirements without restructuring their boards, company officials say.
