North American modernizes special-ops C-130 aircraft

Engineers at Boeing North American Inc. of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., are providing the Integrated Weapon system support program for special versions of the Lockheed Martin four-engine C-130 turboprop aircraft. North American technicians, working under a $1.2 billion U.S. Air Force contract, will modify, enhance, integrate, repair, and maintain support and training equipment and related software, data, and testing. The aircraft involved are the AC-130 Spectre gunship and the MC-130 Combat Talon special operations aircraft. The contract comes from the Air Force Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. J.K.
