Engineers at the Harris Corp. Semiconductor Sector in Melbourne, Fla., are offering a new high-performance, radiation-hardened operational amplifier for military and commercial space applications. The HS-5104ARH Low Nose Quad Op Amp features a high level of device integration, which enables designers to save in parts count, board space, and weight over single op amps, Harris officials say. Designers can take an application that uses several OP-27 circuits and integrate them into one part with guaranteed post-radiation specifications, Harris officials say. The HS-5104ARH shows almost no change in offset voltage after exposure to 100 kilorads of gamma radiation, and its dialectically isolated bipolar process makes it immune to single-event latch-up, Harris officials say.
