Leaders of General Dynamics Corp. in Falls Church, Va., have completed the purchase of the Ceridian Corp. Computing Devices International division in Minneapolis. Computing Devices provides mission-critical electronics, software, systems integration, and information management for defense, government agencies, and commercial customers. Computing Devices concentrates on digitizing the battlefield, applying commercial technologies to the defense sector, and leveraging selected defense products into the commercial sector. The purchase price of $600 million is identical to the 1997 sales of Computing Devices. General Dynamics also is involved in designing and building main battle tanks and nuclear submarines. - J.K.
