New motor meets mil/aero requirements

The British company Control Techniques Dynamics Ltd. is offering a brushless permanent magnet motor with internal gearbox that meets aerospace environmental regulations, including U.S. Navy qualification. Control Techniques of Andover, England, is selling the motors to Ultra Electronics Weapon Systems of Cheltenham, England for use in the HiPPAG 320 high-pressure pure air generator that supports infrared missile seekers and forward-looking IR devices on high-performance aircraft. The U.S. Marine Corps and the Italian Navy also are buying the HiPPAG 320. The motors use rare earth magnets to drive the gearbox, which in turn drives the compressors producing pure air.
