Unitrode introduces 15V hot-swap power manager

Unitrode Corp. of Merrimack, N.H., is offering a new programmable hot-swap power manager called the UCC3915 that operates at 7 volts to 15 volts, and is intended for communication port hot swapping and high-voltage disk drive hot swapping - especially 12-volt hot-plugging applications such as redundant array independent disk servers, network, Ethernet, and backplane modules. The unit has a programmable active-current limit of zero to 3 amps, and on-chip power FET. Unidirectional current flow, low power sleep mode, and programmable start delay are additional features. - J.K.
