Engineers at UTMC Microelectronic Systems Inc. of Colorado Springs, Colo., are reducing propagation delays and increasing maximum external frequency of their UP22VP10 Universal RADpal radiation-hardened programmable array logic for space applications. The device`s propagation delay now is 20 nanoseconds, and its maximum external frequency is 33 MHz. "Designers are finding the RADpal`s flexibility, high speed, and single event upset immunity ideal for implementing system counters, decoders, and state machines," says Anthony Jordan, the company`s standard product marketing manager. RADpal, which comes in a 24-pin DIP, 24-lead flatpack, and a 28-lead quad flatpack, is QML Q and V compliant and is available as SMD 596294754.
