Thomson releases rugged 4-Mbit flash

Thomson-TCS of France is releasing its first 4-mbit product of its new family of flash memories for high-reliability designs. The 29F040 AMD architecture is a single 5-volt supply voltage device for program and erase operations. The device is available in the military temperature range of -55 to 125 degrees Celsius, in the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85 C, and company officials say a Mil-Std-883-screened part and DSCC standard military drawing will be available by March. The device is available in the U.S. from Thomson Components and Tubes Corp. in Totowa, N.J., 201-812-9000. - J.K.
