DURHAM, N.C., 26 Jan. 2011. Nextreme Thermal Solutions in Durham, N.C., is introducing the OptoCooler HV37 high-voltage thin-film thermoelectric cooler for photonics cooling applications with large heat pumping requirements. At 85 degrees Celsius, the OptoCooler HV37 can pump 4.5 Watts -- or 107 Watts per cubic centimeter -- of heat in six square millimeters.
DURHAM, N.C., 26 Jan. 2011. Nextreme Thermal Solutions in Durham, N.C., is introducing the OptoCooler HV37 high-voltage thin-film thermoelectric cooler for photonics cooling applications with large heat pumping requirements. At 85 degrees Celsius, the OptoCooler HV37 can pump 4.5 Watts -- or 107 Watts per cubic centimeter -- of heat in six square millimeters. At 85 C, the OptoCooler HV37 thermal management device can create a temperature differential of as much as 60 C between its hot and cold sides, and operates at a maximum voltage of 7.7 volts. At 25 C, the device can create a temperature differential of as much as 50 C with a maximum voltage of 5.9 volts.

The OptoCooler HV37 is RoHS-compliant and is manufactured using gold-tin solder, which enables assembly temperatures as high as 320 C. The device measures 0.6 millimeters high.

These assembly temperatures make the HV37 module compatible with industry standard processes for packaging photonics devices that require tight tolerances. For more information contact Nextreme online at www.nextreme.com.
