General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada won a $41.6 million U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command contract modification for the installation of upgrade kits for RG-31 Mk5E vehicles. The RG-31 vehicles were delivered previously under the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle program. The upgrade kits are intended to enhance the survivability and operation of the RG-31 vehicles to the latest production configuration. Installation work will begin in August 2011 at the MRAP Sustainment Facility in Kuwait, and will be completed by October 2012.The contract was awarded through the Canadian Commercial Corp., a Crown Agency of the Canadian Government.The Canadian company's parent corporation, General Dynamics Land Systems, is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD).
